just a few fitness tips!

2/27/15

I am proud to say that I have stepped up my fitness game and have been consistently working on eating healthier.  It's a daily struggle.  I have found that once I get into a routine that it is much easier to stay on track.  I have learned that tweking small actions increases the chances on exceeding goals.  Small changes like drinking more water, ordering less food than you think you need, and doing that extra workout may seem obvious but seem to enhance progress.
My goal is not to be skinny or hit a certain weight, it's to be the best version of myself.

Some things that work for me:
1. Constantly drink water (plain, sparkling, flavored)
2. Take photos of your progress (you look at yourself everyday, it's hard to see changes, document it for yourself)
3. Set achieveable goals (rigorous goals can be motavating but can also lead to stress)
4. Track meals (you really have no idea how bad some foods are)
5. Treat the gym as a form of therapy (don't dread the idea of a workout, embrace it)

snowpocalypse (noun): more snow than you would ever need, or could imagine

2/25/15

It has been about a week since some serious snow hit the city of Boston (and surrounding area).  I must ask why it is still causing such commotion?  My commute is longer, there are no parking spaces, and people are scared to drive above 25 mph (... move your car).  But, lets think about this for a second, it's New England... as much as I hate the unpredictable weather I know there is always a chance for things to get a bit crazy.  The amount of snow that mother earth has blessed upon us is a bit more than expected   but I know we will all be complaining about the heat and humidity this summer...
For those of you in warmer places, I am happy for you that you do not have to battle with your neighbor for a parking space or spend countless hours getting stuck on a side street that no one saw fit to plow.

Pink is a Neutral.

2/23/15

Theres something about light pink that has me wanting to wear it... every day.  I have vowed (to myself) to "keep it simple" this year... I may or may not have already broken that rule (life is too short).  For the most part I have aimed for all my purchases to be items that are solid, basic, and/or classic.  I mean, I think this pink coat is classic (enough).  This coat was purchased before my new plan was set in place but seems to mix well with my "new" and "simple" wardrobe... Who would have thought pink was so neutral
This new rule of mine has me working easier pieces into my wardrobe, including these ripped jeans.  I am in love.  I normally go for jeans on the darker side but I loved the casual vibe from these, and they were on sale, major sale, now if I could just get them to change the dress code at work...

Oh, and welcome to my revived blog.
I will be posting about outfits (that hopefully go along with my new "simple" style), beauty, and bits and pieces of my life!

revamp (verb): to renovate, redo, or revise

2/18/15

I see this blog as a small symbol of my life.  When times were good, I was consistent & when times were bad, I simply gave up.  Lately I have been doing a lot of thinking, rethinking, and even more thinking.  I have come to the conclusion that the amount of focus that I have put on my life is not enough.  I focus more time on thinking about ways to improve my life than actually acting upon ways to improve it.  I can blame my current challenge on anything I want: work, relationships, a lack of time; what it really comes down to is myself, I am the cause of the unhappiness and lack of satisfaction.
Yes, that took a while for me to accept but it is 100% true.  There is not a single person that can improve my life but myself.  This revamp is not just for my blog… its for my life.  A revamped, renovated, revised life.  I am taking control and I am not going to stand in my own way.

Heres to revamping.
