Out of all the accessories sunglasses are the most important.  Not because they can hide tired eyes or disguise an entire face... They protect our eyes and vision, something we probably take for granted. So while protecting your eyes from UV rays, do it in style!  Finding the perfect pair can be such a process but if I have one piece of advise, try them all on.  You never know how a pair will look on your face until they are on your face.  Sunglasses can be costly but they are an investment piece... think of them as armor for your face.  I'm not saying that the more costly they are the more they will protect your eyes (because that is not true) but there is a major difference between the sunglasses that you purchase at Target and the ones at a department store.  Ask an associate to show you ones that complement your face shape and coloring!

Spring Topper

5/13/15

Spring is here... but here in New England you never know what that means.  One day I am in cutoffs and a t-shirt, the next day I am in jeans and jacket.  I don't mind bipolar weather because it gives me chances to wear my favorite coats - including this one.  I go through so many obsessions and for a while coats were my thing, they are the outfit... and are perfect for multiple seasons.  I have been trying to be more minimal, but I will forever love prints and finding a print with a complementary pattern and color scheme never fails.  This print works with a variety of colors and even other patterns but it honestly dose not need any justification...

coat - H&M (love the white option) | shirt - No Rest For Bridget (old, similar) | jeans - Genetics (great for a curvy booty) | necklace - J. Crew (old, similar) | shoes - Vince Camuto (limited sizes - brown ones | handbag - Rebecca Minkoff (last summer, smaller size

life too short to play it safe.

5/9/15

There is just something about realizing that life is too short.  When I think about all the time I have waisted wondering about what everyone else was thinking I would have saved a lot of time... life is too short to wonder about everyone else, they really don't matter.  I have started to live life thinking only about those who have a direct impact on my life, it has lifted such a weight off my shoulder, my stress levels have decreased to an all time low, and my confidence has increased beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

- no ones opinion matters aside from your own.
- nothing great will happen without confidence.
- once you believe in yourself, others will believe in you.

Crops & Dots

5/7/15

The only time you will probably see me in a crop top is if it's paired with a skirt.  Unfortunately I'm lacking abs of steel and crop tops usually show a little too much skin but they are perfect with anything high waisted!  I found this crop top at the Express factory outlet and as soon as I tried it on decided I needed it (what else is new)!  It is so simple that I can put it with all of my skirts no matter the vibe!

I own this this skirt in 4 different variations and would recommend it to anyone.  It is easy to wear with anything from a t-shirt to a button down and can be easily paired with sneakers or heels.  The exact ones are no longer available but I linked an almost identical style below.

crop top - Express Factory Outlet (similar) | skirt - Old Navy (similar style) | tote - Old Navy | shoes - Kohl's (only one size left online but call your local store!) |  sunglasses - Ray Ban

Undone Linen && Denim

5/5/15

shorts - JBrand | shirt - Old Navy | flats - Kohls (only one size left online, call your local store)| watch - Michael Kors (discontinued- similar) | blue bracelet - Nordstrom | glasses - Forever 21

I will be the first one to say that shorts are not my thing... Last summer I did not purchase a single pair because of my own insecurities but this year is about confidence and body love so here I am on the internet for the whole world to possibly see in a pair of shorts.  I have to say that my increase in confidence this past year has me feeling fabulous, even in shorts!  The secret is with shorts is to find a pair that YOU feel comfortable in (you may be trying them on for months but if your not comfortable it is more difficult to be confident!  The pair I am wearing here are J Brand (exact pair)... yes at full price they are an investment but I was fortunate to find mine at Nordstrom Rack (after wearing them I will note that I would pay full price for these because they fit me so well).  These are great for me... but everyone has a different structure and is a different size so what works for me might not work for you, it's all about finding your fit.

The top is one of my current favorites, aside from being super affordable I can wear it for any situation I can think of: over a bathing suit, with a pair of jeans, tucked into a skirt... and with these cutoffs.  It is light weight and perfect for spring days and chilly summer nights.  As for the accessories - I will use this clutch any chance I get because I am obsessed with marble && Rebecca Minkoff, it is the perfect size and also has spots for cards so no reason to switch wallets.  Dual toned watches are my weakness because although I love gold I have so many accessories (like my clutch) that have silver hardware and a dual toned watch ties everything together.

Stay tuned for a shorts roundup this week,

Light Sweater & Light Wash

5/1/15

Current spring staples include:
light sweaters
light wash denim
heeled sandals
neutrals
Alright New England, as much as I despise your unpredictable weather and harsh winter, I am much more appreciative of any day over 50 degrees.  Although spring time is not as warm as other parts of the country, I appreciate any type of sunshine even if it comes with a breeze.  My current uniform (on my days off) includes a simple light knit and some distressed jeans.  I feel like I can not go wrong with these two pieces as a base because, lets face it, the weather is always changing.  It is easy to add a simple heeled sandal, a necklace, or switch the jeans out for a skirt or shorts if it heats up a bit.

I'm still going strong with my neutrals.  I find it so much easier to put looks together now that I have limited the amount of prints and overall items in my wardrobe (part of that was a lie because I probably purchase something everyday).  I can wear this sweater, sandals, or handbag with anything, it makes things easy... especially since I am barely home and live out of my car most of the week.

sweater - H&M (similar) | jeans - Garage (similar) | sandals - Old Navy (no longer online) | handbag - Rebecca Minkoff (the color I have is Seashell) | watch - Kate Spade
