Downtown Chic: Bodycon

3/16/15

I have to admit: I once had a body-con addiction.  Lets face it, plenty of people did (and still do).  Rewind about 4 years to my junior year of high school, body-con was everywhere.   Forever 21 was the body-con mother load.  It was not hard to accumulate a collection of brightly colored body-con items that were too tight and too short (yes mom, I am admitting to my mistakes)...  Fast forward to what I would like to barely call adulthood, body-con has been replaced with trend after trend... but I will never fully give it up (still holding on).  Yes, they can ride up without notice. Yes, you can see every roll that may or may not exist on your body.  But, they will always be so easy to dress (and it will most likely always fit) ...
Take this outfit for example: start with a body-con dress, add a leather jacket, sneakers, and a scarf (or substitute for a necklace) and ta-DA, outfit complete!  Dress it up, dress it down, add a sweater, or a jacket, or a skirt and instantly you are ready to go.

Every Ending Yields a New Beginning

12/30/13

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

As 2013 comes to an end I have reflected on my last 4 months of blogging and how great it has been.  I underestimated the time that blogging really takes!  I have met some amazing people and have had a chance to channel my creative energy in a somewhat therapeutic way (it feels great to meet goals).  With the new year arriving I am excited about my first full year of blogging, and life changes that will take place.  I am so excited for the new year!

In 2014 I hope to get on schedule with my blog.  It's difficult with school and work but when the warmer weather comes it will be a lot easier to keep up (the sun has been setting around 4pm lately).  I hope to make more connections and take my blog to the next level.  I also hope to start making tutorials via Youtube if you haven't ever watched any you should.  They are full of new ideas and many tips basically anything you want to know about!  I will be continuing my education (probably changing my major another 8 times), hopefully moving (fingers crossed), and turing 20 (no more excuses referencing my age).  2014 will be a productive year and I could not be more excited!

Resolution wise... I still have to thing about those.  I hope everyone has a happy New Year!

What are you looking forward to in 2014?

Can't Part with Paisley

12/6/13

The feeling of finding something you totally forgot about is exciting to me, but may been seen as a  warning sign to others... Yes, I have too many scarves.  Yes, it could be considered an addiction. No, I do not need help!  Finding old favorites dose shopping problem I may or may not have, but its a problem I am willing to accept and continue.  I purchased this paisley scarf probably three years ago because of the rich colors and overall bohemian feel (not to mention it was around 10 dollars).  It is such a nice accent to an overall plain outfit and makes me feel more "put together" than I really am.

Overall this outfit is super simple.  Cardigan, t-shirt, jeggings, booties... you cant really dress an outfit down past that. A scarf can do wonders for an outfit.  Tie it in different ways, try a fun print, and include contrasting colors and your all set for the day.  Bonus: These booties were a steal at target for only $35 dollars.  I love how they have the cobalt accent around the zipper and they are insanely comfortable.

What is your favorite "put together" accessory?

Cobalt Blues

10/11/13

I had the pleasure of collaborating with the lovely Chloe from Nomad En Vogue, she is too adorable for words and I am positive you will love her blog as much as I do. (P.S she just turned 24!  Wish her a happy belated birthday!)

It is too funny that we both decided to pair colbalt with animal print.  Clearly great minds thing alike!  She clearly looks great in those jeans (not to mention the posh shoes).  Make sure to visit her amazing blog.

Colbalt is defiantly a color to add to your fall wardrobe and I am always excited when I can add a fun color to a season.  Fall is so neutral and adding a pop of color is simple, all you really need to do is mix it in with neutrals that you already own.  Cobalt is a color to try weather it's a fun bag, bright shoes (i personally just purchased these Zara flats).

For this outfit I wanted something polished and sassy.  This fun leopard dress screams fall, paired with black tights and black booties makes this look appropriate for a dinner date.  Its gotten quite chilly in boston these past couple of days so adding a neutral scarf helped with the chill.
