Pink is a Neutral.

2/23/15

Theres something about light pink that has me wanting to wear it... every day.  I have vowed (to myself) to "keep it simple" this year... I may or may not have already broken that rule (life is too short).  For the most part I have aimed for all my purchases to be items that are solid, basic, and/or classic.  I mean, I think this pink coat is classic (enough).  This coat was purchased before my new plan was set in place but seems to mix well with my "new" and "simple" wardrobe... Who would have thought pink was so neutral
This new rule of mine has me working easier pieces into my wardrobe, including these ripped jeans.  I am in love.  I normally go for jeans on the darker side but I loved the casual vibe from these, and they were on sale, major sale, now if I could just get them to change the dress code at work...

Oh, and welcome to my revived blog.
I will be posting about outfits (that hopefully go along with my new "simple" style), beauty, and bits and pieces of my life!

Paisley Print

12/28/13

With the Holidays behind us it's the perfect time to catch up on errands and such.
This outfit is perfect for errand running without looking like the mess you may be in.  I feel that over the last couple of weeks I have been so behind in every aspect of life and am making it a priority to get back on track.  Sweater dresses have been a favorite of mine for the last couple weeks for a couple of reasons: they are easy, warm, and adorable.   I already discussed my dislike for jackets, so while running erands I like to wear things that are light enough that I am not going to be sweating by the time I am ready to checkout.  Sweater dresses are just fabulous all together.

Can't Part with Paisley

12/6/13

The feeling of finding something you totally forgot about is exciting to me, but may been seen as a  warning sign to others... Yes, I have too many scarves.  Yes, it could be considered an addiction. No, I do not need help!  Finding old favorites dose shopping problem I may or may not have, but its a problem I am willing to accept and continue.  I purchased this paisley scarf probably three years ago because of the rich colors and overall bohemian feel (not to mention it was around 10 dollars).  It is such a nice accent to an overall plain outfit and makes me feel more "put together" than I really am.

Overall this outfit is super simple.  Cardigan, t-shirt, jeggings, booties... you cant really dress an outfit down past that. A scarf can do wonders for an outfit.  Tie it in different ways, try a fun print, and include contrasting colors and your all set for the day.  Bonus: These booties were a steal at target for only $35 dollars.  I love how they have the cobalt accent around the zipper and they are insanely comfortable.

What is your favorite "put together" accessory?

I am pleased to bring you this collaboration with Makayla from Fashionably Kay.  Makayla is a 21 year old fashion student with an eye for style and a really great blog.  Her pictures are professional and her blog is nicely organized.  She is also extremely understanding and has the characteristics of a great friend!  Her outfit is fabulous and take a look at how similar our booties are!

Alright I know I went a little picture crazy on this one but I must say that this was the best shoot i've had.  My sweet, loving boyfriend takes all of my pictures and lets just say that it's not always an easy task.  Getting good pictures is harder than it seems.  You need good lighting, a good scene, the white balance needs to be correct and last but not least patience is needed.  I have been researching tips on photographing for style blogs and many people recommended the 50mm lens.  For a mere 100 dollars this  is worth its money and much more.

This outfit is a perfect example of my weekend wear.  These jeggings have a cool acid wash effect but its not too crazy.  I love the acid look but feel that most jeans are too overdone and these have just the right touch.  they are perfect for shopping because they are easy to get on and off in the fitting room and they are great for events like concerts as well because they are stylish and easy to move around in.

For the top I am wearing none other than my PIKO!  I have talked about these tops before here, but I have no problem talking about them again!  They are the perfect top: soft to the touch, loose in the right places, wide neckline, nice length, and come in many colors.   I'm not going to even say how many I own.

The weather has been getting a lot chillier here in Massachusetts so to warm it up I added my two toned jacket from H&M and an oversized Zara scarf!  I love the mixture of neutrals, and if your in the market for a BIG warm scarf check this one out (I got it in gray as well).
