the shirt dress

5/23/15

The infamous shirt dress.  They are usually too short, too expensive, or extremely ill fitting (on me at least).  H&M has done it again... although this may be a bit too long for anyone under 5'5'' but for my taller ladies this dress is perfect (you can always get things shortened).  It is so light and easily worn that I wish it came in another color, other then white because it was 100% see-through.
I wore this to work with some minimal shoes and extra accessories but since the dress was so simple I opted for a jeweled wedge for dinner, Im kicking myself in the a** for not purchasing these shoes in black when I had the chance, they are no longer available but I will link some other fun wedges below.

This weekend I will be spending all my time at work so I hope everyone enjoys their memorial day, and have an extra drink for me...

An Apple a Day…

10/24/14

or some pumpkins!
I have to admit I went to the apple orchard a while ago…
and I should have uploaded these then,
but, better late than never.

So yes, Max and I (my boyfriend that is) visited the apple orchard.  I was much more impressed with the photos than I was with the apples… perfect fall scene!  I did enjoy a scrumptious apple turnover and managed to bring a few apples home, but the majority of the time there was spent embracing the fall weather (plus there were not many apples left).  Overall it was a great time, it is always nice to get to spend a full day with Max especially if it does not include running errands, food shopping, or cleaning!

While at the orchard I realized 3 things.

1) I could never pick apples for a living (I basically got stuck in a tree)
2) I wish I could bake so I could have an apple turnover for breakfast everyday.
3) I would like to own/grow a pumpkin patch (they are just so festive)

Collab: Cozy Fall

11/13/13

I am pleased to bring you this collaboration with Makayla from Fashionably Kay.  Makayla is a 21 year old fashion student with an eye for style and a really great blog.  Her pictures are professional and her blog is nicely organized.  She is also extremely understanding and has the characteristics of a great friend!  Her outfit is fabulous and take a look at how similar our booties are!
Make sure to stop by Fashionably Kay after viewing this post!

Alright I know I went a little picture crazy on this one but I must say that this was the best shoot i've had.  My sweet, loving boyfriend takes all of my pictures and lets just say that it's not always an easy task.  Getting good pictures is harder than it seems.  You need good lighting, a good scene, the white balance needs to be correct and last but not least patience is needed.  I have been researching tips on photographing for style blogs and many people recommended the 50mm lens.  For a mere 100 dollars this  is worth its money and much more.

This outfit is a perfect example of my weekend wear.  These jeggings have a cool acid wash effect but its not too crazy.  I love the acid look but feel that most jeans are too overdone and these have just the right touch.  they are perfect for shopping because they are easy to get on and off in the fitting room and they are great for events like concerts as well because they are stylish and easy to move around in.

For the top I am wearing none other than my PIKO!  I have talked about these tops before here, but I have no problem talking about them again!  They are the perfect top: soft to the touch, loose in the right places, wide neckline, nice length, and come in many colors.   I'm not going to even say how many I own.

The weather has been getting a lot chillier here in Massachusetts so to warm it up I added my two toned jacket from H&M and an oversized Zara scarf!  I love the mixture of neutrals, and if your in the market for a BIG warm scarf check this one out (I got it in gray as well).
