fringe (noun): an ornamental border of threads left loose or formed into tassels or twists

fringe moment

fringe blanket - perfect for the beach or fireside!  I love that it can also be thrown over a couch or a bed for a cozy feel and is light weight, so it is not a hassle to pack.
fringe scarf - spring and summer nights still get a bit chilly so it is easy to have a scarf handy to layer over a summer dress!  Coral is a great color to wear against tan skin and goes well with other summer colors.
fringe shoes | brown & taupe - what better way to dress up a casual outfit than with fringe shoes.  I love to add a little pep to my step and these shoes are both equally stunning (make sure to checkout the brown pair in the mustard color, would be a great transition to fall!)
fringe jewelry | earrings & necklace - the perfect way to add a little fringe without a major bohemian vibe.  Jewelery is the quickest way to pickup current trends because they are affordable and can be worked into any wardrobe.
fringe handbag | hobo & clutch - take this trend a step farther, the fringe trend will be sticking around so work it into everyday outfits.  This clutch is large enough to fit a wallet and small camera so it will be perfect for outings and events!

There is something great about getting dressed, portraying a different look - a different story.  Every outfit can set a tone for the day.  I am usually not the sporty type, but there are some days when I wake up feeling like "jenny from the block".  Getting dressed is a form of expression, a work of art.  Some days I feel classy, some simplistic, and others I feel like a 90's video girl (it just depends on the day.  Clothing makes it possible to say how you feel without even speaking.

Most of these items I have had for a while, but there is nothing like a little closet remix.  I love mixing prints in general and with these breezy spring days it was the perfect opportunity to wear this floral jacket.  It is super comfortable and although the exact one is sold out I linked some similar ones below.  It's great to have a couple of fun jackets to throw over simple tanks and dresses, especially for cooler spring and summer nights.

Converse will always be a staple in my wardrobe.  These are my first hightop pair and I love how they give a sporty vibe to any outfit.  I find myself wearing them with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses (so basically everything).  They are so easy to slide on and this color (papyrus) is not as original as a white or black pair but still works well with everything!

summer print: pineapple

6/4/15

Do not even pretend that pineapple is not one of the best prints for summer.  Pineapples just remind me of summer drinks and fruit salad... currently I need both in my life.  I have obsessive tensions- once I find something I like I obsess over it until I am sick of it, that is how I am with pineapples.  I know at some point I will get sick of it, but for now I love it!
Also, this romper... lets chat.
Everyone should have a romper that can pass as a dress:
1. Rompers are more comfortable
2. While wearing a romper there is less of a chance of flashing random people when the wind blows
3. You can wear them to theme parks.
4. They are as versatile as a dress, without being a dress.

Don't get me wrong, I love dresses but sometimes it is not convenient to wear one especially when around children, or while the wind is blowing.

boho vibes & boyfriend shorts

5/27/15

The warm air has finally moved up the coast and has reminded me that the East Coast dose have fabulous weather at times.  It was a long winter and despite the mountains of snow that once occupied the ground the grass is now green, flowers are blooming, and there is no reason to stay inside.  It's a miracle!  Now I just have to figure out how to get every beautiful day off of work!
The warm air brings out my bohemian side: free flowing shirts, wavy undone hair, and distressed bottoms create such a effortless vibe.  I had to glam it up with some cage booties and arm stacks but this look would be perfect with a simple sandal (I just needed a little extra something).

sunglasses roundup

aviators: one | two | three
cat eye: one | two | three
oversized: one | two | three
rounded: one | two | three
color crush: one | two | three

Out of all the accessories sunglasses are the most important.  Not because they can hide tired eyes or disguise an entire face... They protect our eyes and vision, something we probably take for granted. So while protecting your eyes from UV rays, do it in style!  Finding the perfect pair can be such a process but if I have one piece of advise, try them all on.  You never know how a pair will look on your face until they are on your face.  Sunglasses can be costly but they are an investment piece... think of them as armor for your face.  I'm not saying that the more costly they are the more they will protect your eyes (because that is not true) but there is a major difference between the sunglasses that you purchase at Target and the ones at a department store.  Ask an associate to show you ones that complement your face shape and coloring!

With warmer weather upon us I can't help but think of the days when I thought this winder would never end.  This has been the worst winter I have ever experienced.  What is worse than the snow is the lack of motivation it caused.  The choices of shoes to wear is minimal, and it is overall too cold to get out of bed, never mind put on a decent outfit.
Workout clothing is about the only thing that is warm, comfortable, and socially acceptable to wear during the cold (okay... not the only thing).  I am in love with feeling comfortable while looking put together and that's why I invest in gym items that are functional at the gym but can also be worn on "this weather is too much for me to handle" days.
My favorite workout items are Zella.  They are a Nordstrom brand that carries a variety of leggings, tanks, sweatshirts, and other items weather your working out or not.  My favorite item of theirs are the "Live-In" leggings, they suck everything in without being too tight or see-through (saves me the embarrassment when squatting), and my new favorite sweatshirt is pictured as well (loving the cowl neck).

Well until the snow reappears this weekend I will be enjoying the sunshine.
