Oh Independence Day weekend... how I wish I could enjoy you!  While everyone is at BBQ's and the beach I will be at work (that retail life).  I could be sour but I am not about that negative life - as long as I get the change to watch some fireworks I will be fine... that is all I really care about anyways!

If your in a pinch for an outfit for this weekend I would highly, highly , highly recommend this dress... it was 8 dollars (in store). Yes, you read that right, this red and white striped dress was eight dollars and it also comes in navy and white stripes and some solid colors!  This dress is perfect for a swim coverup and for layering so even if you have an outfit for this weekend it would be beneficial to grab!  Dresses are my go to because they are so easy to dress up or down.  A simple dress can be layered with a chambray top for an effortless vibe and can also be dressed up if the attire is a bit more put together.  I love comfortable outfits (epically if there is going to be food), this dress will conceal any food baby and is soft enough to sleep in if you happen to have too much to drink (don't act like that never happens).

so enjoy your festivities and if you happen to fall asleep in your dress... thats okay!

the little white dress

A must have for summer is the little white dress, just like the lbd (little black dress) the lwd can be worn with endless combinations.  Although white can be dangerous, it can also be perfect for so many occasions (except weddings, please do not wear white to a wedding).  White can be tricky (epically if your like me, and your constantly eating) but can be worn with any color and looks great against bronzed summer skin (that's where I naturally luck out, sorry...).  I went a simple route with this outfit and paired it with a simple denim jacket, a wicker tote, and simple heeled sandals.  Dress the lwd up with a strappy shoe and some statement jewelry or dress it down with sneakers and a light scarf!

boho vibes & boyfriend shorts

5/27/15

The warm air has finally moved up the coast and has reminded me that the East Coast dose have fabulous weather at times.  It was a long winter and despite the mountains of snow that once occupied the ground the grass is now green, flowers are blooming, and there is no reason to stay inside.  It's a miracle!  Now I just have to figure out how to get every beautiful day off of work!
The warm air brings out my bohemian side: free flowing shirts, wavy undone hair, and distressed bottoms create such a effortless vibe.  I had to glam it up with some cage booties and arm stacks but this look would be perfect with a simple sandal (I just needed a little extra something).

The White Denim Skirt

5/20/15

Ah, a crisp white skirt.  It is basically asking to be spilled on.  Despite my lack of control while eating or drinking (especially coffee), I thought it would be a bright idea to purchase a white denim skirt.  Well... it was a bright idea because white denim goes with everything, this is long enough for me to wear to work, and despite being white it is not blatantly see-through (just make sure not to wear visible underwear).  Old Navy has been on point lately and I can not believe I am in a denim skirt again, bringing me back to middle school when I would top one off with a polo, and a camp to match whatever strange animal was sewed onto the upper left side, those were the days...

This time my denim skirt is at an appropriate length as well as an appropriate price (and they also have a denim version).  Pair it with a sweater, a button down, or a loose crop top - I could go on...  Whatever the case may be the denim skirt is back (well in my closet at least)!

and one last one of me swatting bugs...
