Light Sweater & Light Wash

5/1/15

Current spring staples include:
light sweaters
light wash denim
heeled sandals
neutrals
Alright New England, as much as I despise your unpredictable weather and harsh winter, I am much more appreciative of any day over 50 degrees.  Although spring time is not as warm as other parts of the country, I appreciate any type of sunshine even if it comes with a breeze.  My current uniform (on my days off) includes a simple light knit and some distressed jeans.  I feel like I can not go wrong with these two pieces as a base because, lets face it, the weather is always changing.  It is easy to add a simple heeled sandal, a necklace, or switch the jeans out for a skirt or shorts if it heats up a bit.

I'm still going strong with my neutrals.  I find it so much easier to put looks together now that I have limited the amount of prints and overall items in my wardrobe (part of that was a lie because I probably purchase something everyday).  I can wear this sweater, sandals, or handbag with anything, it makes things easy... especially since I am barely home and live out of my car most of the week.

sweater - H&M (similar) | jeans - Garage (similar) | sandals - Old Navy (no longer online) | handbag - Rebecca Minkoff (the color I have is Seashell) | watch - Kate Spade

Blushing Again

4/21/15

Here we are again... This bush coat is hands down my favorite piece right now and you can probably guess why: its blush, and its transitional.  The weather these past couple of weeks has been so temperamental, it goes from 70 degrees and sunny to 50 degrees and windy.  This jacket is perfect over a tee and skinnies with a scarf but can also be flawless over a simple dress (they need to make more colors).  It also dose not hurt that it is under $40!

Jacket- Forever 21 | flats- Gap (so old) | necklace- BaubleBar | tote- Old Navy (I also love the cream)

You'll probably see this jacket again,

snowpocalypse (noun): more snow than you would ever need, or could imagine

2/25/15

It has been about a week since some serious snow hit the city of Boston (and surrounding area).  I must ask why it is still causing such commotion?  My commute is longer, there are no parking spaces, and people are scared to drive above 25 mph (... move your car).  But, lets think about this for a second, it's New England... as much as I hate the unpredictable weather I know there is always a chance for things to get a bit crazy.  The amount of snow that mother earth has blessed upon us is a bit more than expected   but I know we will all be complaining about the heat and humidity this summer...
For those of you in warmer places, I am happy for you that you do not have to battle with your neighbor for a parking space or spend countless hours getting stuck on a side street that no one saw fit to plow.

Spring Hues

4/10/14

{shirt, jacket (old), zara jeans (old), bag, shoes, necklace, sunglasses}

I am thinking it is safe to put the heavy coat away, but you never know, this is New England.
I don't know if I am happier about blogging again or if I am happier about the weather change?  Needless to say I am euphoric about breaking out lighter layers and having constant feeling in my toes.  This outfit is basic, but that is what I love about spring.  A light button up and colored jeans is timeless.  The color of this top… gorgeous.
Since starting my new job I can no longer wear denim, yes I cried a little (take a look at past posts, 90% denim).  But, it's okay because it pushes me to explore other options.  Spring shopping has been in full effect and although I should be saving I have been looking at some more classic style shirts and pants to accommodate my new dress code.
