fringe blanket - perfect for the beach or fireside!  I love that it can also be thrown over a couch or a bed for a cozy feel and is light weight, so it is not a hassle to pack.

fringe scarf - spring and summer nights still get a bit chilly so it is easy to have a scarf handy to layer over a summer dress!  Coral is a great color to wear against tan skin and goes well with other summer colors. 

fringe shoes | brown & taupe - what better way to dress up a casual outfit than with fringe shoes.  I love to add a little pep to my step and these shoes are both equally stunning (make sure to checkout the brown pair in the mustard color, would be a great transition to fall!)

fringe jewelry | earrings & necklace - the perfect way to add a little fringe without a major bohemian vibe.  Jewelery is the quickest way to pickup current trends because they are affordable and can be worked into any wardrobe.

fringe handbag | hobo & clutch - take this trend a step farther, the fringe trend will be sticking around so work it into everyday outfits.  This clutch is large enough to fit a wallet and small camera so it will be perfect for outings and events!

Ripped jeans never fail.  Out of all the denim I own about 60% is ripped (it is a problem I am willing to admit).  There is something so casual about ripped denim that makes any outfit look perfectly undone.  I will admit I should probably start learning how to rip denim on my own (simply because it always costs more than regular denim), but until I find the time to perfect the art of ripping jeans I will leave it up to the manufacture.  The pair that I am wearing are the "Jamie" jean from Topshop, I will (at some point in time) own these in every color because they are perfect - hands down, perfection.  Great fitting jeans are hard for me to find because I have a significantly large booty.  Lets face the facts, great fitting jeans are hard for almost everyone to find,  these have the right amount of stretch so that they are still form fitting and do not get saggy half way through the day. 

Spring and summer nights tend to cool down significantly on the coast and this means layers are still appropriate.  As soon as the sun starts to set the usually temperature decreases instantly - and then I break out the denim.  Denim also decreases the amount of mosquito bites... those damn things are always trying to suck my blood.  During the warmer months I always make sure to have a light coat (unfortunately this one is an older style but I did link some similar ones above).  One that can be worn over a tank or a dress works the best and I also make sure that it can be carried over to fall because transitional pieces are key to every wardrobe.

I loved these shorts so much I decided to dress them up as well.  Recently I have found more and more ways to maximize my wardrobe by making sure I can wear something at least two ways (that is a problem because I can find two ways to wear just about anything).  Pieces that work from day to night are amazing because the look can be transformed with the change of the shirt, shoes, and a couple of accessories.  These shorts look great dressed down with sandals and a chambray (see the post here), but also look amazing dressed up.  They are a great length for a night out and have a slight high waist so they hide any chub (or possible food baby). 

The easiest way to dress up a look is with accessories.  For this look I traded a chambray for a basic black silky tank then added the jewles.  I got both the necklace and larger gold bracelet in my June Rocksbox - I do not know why I hesitated to try the subscription service before.  I will have a detailed post up about Rocksbox but I am lucky enough to have a  coupon code for a complementary month!

the little white dress

A must have for summer is the little white dress, just like the lbd (little black dress) the lwd can be worn with endless combinations.  Although white can be dangerous, it can also be perfect for so many occasions (except weddings, please do not wear white to a wedding).  White can be tricky (epically if your like me, and your constantly eating) but can be worn with any color and looks great against bronzed summer skin (that's where I naturally luck out, sorry...).  I went a simple route with this outfit and paired it with a simple denim jacket, a wicker tote, and simple heeled sandals.  Dress the lwd up with a strappy shoe and some statement jewelry or dress it down with sneakers and a light scarf!
