Sweater Dresses and Knee-high Socks

11/10/13

How great is this sweater dress from H&M? For only 24.99 this dress/tunic (my legs are super long) is THE piece for fall.  I chose a camel color, even though it's close to my skin tone, I can't get away from how rich the color is.  I paired it with Zara leopard print tights that are amazing as well. They have a brown tint to them and definitely spice up the look.  It has been pretty chilly here in Boston, on this day the temperature was around 45 degrees, hence the knee-high socks.  They kept my legs warm while adding style to the look. I ended the look with my Steve Madden Millann bootie, the perfect bootie in my opinion.

I also got a new lens for my camera, still trying to get the hang of it, but so far I am really impressed. I adore when the background blurs, such a nice effect!

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday, and also had a great weekend all together!

bedroom inspiration

Since I am so serious about having my own apartment I thought I would put together some inspiration.  I am in love.  First of all, white is my new best friend, it's just so chic!  And my love for gold is never ending.  The two together make the perfect pair. I am also a mirror fanatic and the floor length one is something that my bedroom will not be complete without.

The bed has to be my favorite part I searched for hours and finally found this somewhat affordable one through Target for $550!  The accent pillows will pull the bed together. I was thinking of light gray walls, but my mind changes every day (I also love plum and the thought of a classic white with overly decorated walls).

One thing is for sure, my room will be filled with candles.  I love the Voluspa ones and the Branche Vermeil is the perfect sent for the holidays.  I also love Mokara for a fresh sent and French Cade Lavender for a "clean boy out of the shower" sent.

Stay tuned for more apartment inspiration.

When's the Best Time to Wear a Striped Sweater?

10/28/13

Yes, the best time to wear a  striped sweater is... ALL THE TIME!
Channeling my inner child with some Spongebob throwback, but anyways
this striped sweater is one I could wear all the time.  The black and oatmeal
stripes paired with a boxy fit make this sweater as comfortable as a sweater
should be.  Paired with distresses jeans (seen here, and here, and here
[clearly I wear them a lot]) made a perfect Sunday look.

Let me also tell you about this jacket that I, for some reason, find to be
so cute.  The two-toned style and denim feel make it stylish and wearable.
The coloring is similar to the quilted style jacket I wore in my last outfit post,
but what can I say i'm attracted to it!

&& these python print booties from American Eagle have stolen my heart.
I wish I could say that they are still available, but sadly they are sold out!
I'll keep my eye out for them on the website, maybe they will be back.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Office Decor.

10/27/13

For the past weeks I find myself wishing I had somewhere to sit, think, and work.  Although haveing my own office is not going to happen any time soon, I find myself loathing over different office styles.

These pictures are all ones that I have found in pintrest while browsing.
I love different parts of each office.

1. I love the simplicity if the first office. Minimal color pallet and simple
greens make this office look effortless.

2. I love the gold wall details in this office. They are so chic and defiantly
my style, I love how they are styled gradually.

3. This office has fun insperational items along the walls, it's a really fun way
to add personal aspects such as pictures, cards, and notes.

4. This forth office is a fun Tiffany blue color. The lamps are so lavish and the wall
of black and white portrats is so bold.

5. I loved the fun mirror shape in this office and the comfy chair!

6. The cozy corner set up of this office grabbed my eye. I love the closed off feeling,
the natural light comming from the window, and the precious wedding picture on the wall.

Jazzy Jacket.

10/26/13

As the cold air rolls around its time for jackets, personally i'm not a fan of stuffy,
puffy, oversized coats so thats why I was thrilled to find this great quilted style for
only... wait for it... wait for it, 60 dollars!  It was such a fantastic find.
I am also loving this paisley print waterfall cardigan, waterfall styles are so flattering,
and not to mention comfortable.  The black on black was the obvious choice for me
it's always classy and easy to work with.  Also, these flats, yes you have seen them before
here, I had to purchase them in another color!

Loving Layering

10/17/13

For those days that are chilly, but not chilly enough for a jacket.  I resort to layering.  It has to be the easiest way to successfully keep warm while looking cute.  I'm not a huge fan of jackets, they tend to be uncomfortable and stiff, but a sweater laves room for movement.
Opposed to the conventional button down, I decided on a chambray shirt to wear underneath.
Its more my style!
I am loving this plum color and the "v" neckline.  I am pretty busty so its often hard to find a flattering sweater, the bulk and high neckline of most of them leave me looking shapeless.  But, the deep "v" in this one makes me feel as curvy as usual.
The light bottoms add some contrast and the leopard loafers add sass to the over all preppy feel.

Current Obsession: hats

current obsession hats

J.Crew j crew hat / Uniqlo brimmed hat / H&M brimmed hat, $24 / Beanie hat, $13

This upcoming season has gotten me in the craze for hats.  In the past, scarves have been my obsession, but this season my love for hats is growing.  After already purchasing a Kardashian inspired wide brimmed hat I find myself gravitating towards other colors of this same hat (yes, I'm addicted), as well as other styles.

Hats are an accessory that take some thought.  Pick one that looks good against your hair tone.  Also, make sure that your outfit balances out.

1.  For a wool baseball cap I would go for a sporty outfit, possibly some wedged sneakers, an embellished sweatshirt, utility jacket, and skinnies.

2.  For a fall fedora I would pair it with a chambray shirt, some fall colored denim (maroon, gray, and brown are my favorites).  Some cute flats (animal print is always fun), and an optional scarf for those cooler days.

3.  For this wide brimmed hat I would go all out.  A patterned shirt with some embellished sleeves, fur vest, skinny jeans and fun booties would create an outstanding, show stopping look.

4.  Last but not least for the transitional beanie anything is possible.  I love beanies for lounging around in a cozy sweater and leggings, but they are also great with a statement jacket.

I would love to know your favorite style of hat!
