Kay's Kitchen: Breaded Turkey Cutlets

5/26/15

I am no chef but I have learned to make enough meals to get by.  To be honest they all have minimal ingredients and are easy enough to make with no thought at all.  I am working on eating better so most of the recipes will be somewhat healthy (key word is somewhat), they will all be perfect for meal prep because I am always reheating food at work.

Breaded Turkey Cutlets:
(can also be made with chicken)

Ingredients:
tuekey cutlets, one egg (or two if you are making more than one package, bread crumbs.

1. Beat the egg(s) until the yolk and white is mixed.
2. Cover turkey with egg
3. Cover turkey with breadcrumbs, the ones I have are already seasoned but if your breadcrumbs are not add pepper and salt as needed.

4. Heat stove and add a thin layer of oil to the pan.
5. Place turkey in pan and cook on each side until it's golden brown

I will eat these alone or top a salad with them! They reheat perfectly and are so easy to make!

Thanksgiving Details and Quick DIY

Thanksgiving Details

We all know Thanksgiving is in a week, and what's better then spicing up the home for family and friends.  If Thanksgiving dinner is hosed at your home or not it is easy to add some simple touches to bring on the Thanksgiving feel.  Who dosent love decorating!?

1. I adore the idea of this little pad of paper.  It is definitely important to reflect on what we are greatful for.  How cute would it be to have everyone who visits your home write what they are thankful for?
2. This super cute wine sweater is perfect for a cozy feel to your kitchen, or even a great addition to a holiday party in general.
3. If you are hosting a party this tub is perfect for drinks, just fill with ice and serve, after the holidays are over it would be great to store all seasonal home accessories in as well.
4. Candles are for sure the easiest way to change the mood in any room.  The aroma fills the room and can defiantly make a major change in mood.  A fresh sent goes a long way.
5. Spice up your furniture with accent pillows, or a warm colored throw.  It's easy to throw some pillows on a couch or chair.  Homegoods and Target have some adorable pillows.  I love this owl one from West Elm.  It's a little bit on the pricy side but it's just for inspiration!
6. This leaf is too cute... and I am obsessed with little dishes and leaves so naturally I am obsessed with this.  Put whatever you want on it: jewelry  candy, your keys.  It is just so adorable, use a couple to spice up your Thanksgiving table setting!
7. Last but not least is a little bit of a DIY!  So first you'll need some pinecones, you can use natural ones or get them from your local craft store.  I personally like to glitter them, so I roll the edges in glue and then dust with glitter! Next just put them in a vase, or multiple dishes and place where ever you like. I mean it's an extremely easy "DIY" to master, and can be spiced up with some scented potpourri!  After Thanksgiving some ornaments can be added!

So there you have it!  Spice up your life!

bedroom inspiration

Since I am so serious about having my own apartment I thought I would put together some inspiration.  I am in love.  First of all, white is my new best friend, it's just so chic!  And my love for gold is never ending.  The two together make the perfect pair. I am also a mirror fanatic and the floor length one is something that my bedroom will not be complete without.

The bed has to be my favorite part I searched for hours and finally found this somewhat affordable one through Target for $550!  The accent pillows will pull the bed together. I was thinking of light gray walls, but my mind changes every day (I also love plum and the thought of a classic white with overly decorated walls).

One thing is for sure, my room will be filled with candles.  I love the Voluspa ones and the Branche Vermeil is the perfect sent for the holidays.  I also love Mokara for a fresh sent and French Cade Lavender for a "clean boy out of the shower" sent.

Stay tuned for more apartment inspiration.
