More often than not I am that girl walking down the street when it is 30 degrees with a sweater (and usually a scarf) on. I do not know what it is but I can not stand the feeling of a jacket. They are stuffy, hot, limiting, and obnoxious. There are few things worse than chasing down the train in a jacket that you can barely move your arms in. When your finally on the train your body starts to overheat causing you to sweat. Yes, it gets pretty cold in Boston but my body is accustomed to it. I do not need a Northface down jacket that goes below my knees, multiple layers of leggings, a hat that was created for Antarctica, or boots that could trudge through a foot of snow. Winter just started and I will be without a formal winter coat for as long as I can.
As an alternative I wear nice chunky sweaters. I love them. Although they don't do much for the body I really find them quite attractive and practical for those chilly but not yet freezing days. What I do is layer underneath with a quarter length shirt. I'm not sure if I have a high body temperature or what, but I don't get too cold.
Enough about my strange no jacket policy and on to the outfit. I paired this sweater (similar to my sweater dress) with some light olive knit jeggings. I should really look into expanding my sense of color, but to me they are light olive. For a more casual day (when I am not working) I would pair this with my beloved chucks, but for work purposes these cute wedges did the trick (and only cost 34.99 at Target). I added lots of rings and two pendents, I really love the look of pendents with cowl neck/turtle neck tops.
I will be styling another chunky sweater soon, stay tuned.
